What is Public Relations?
Public relations is the body of contacts with the environment and a concern about the image. It is also convincing others of the rightness of one's views and beliefs. The trust is the basis of all this, as well as a mutual understanding and being responsible. It is the result of the actions taken, the process taking place in the minds of the people, which causes one's motivation to make a purchase or to believe in something or someone. In this aspect, public relations can be seen as an art – everything that others are saying about us. Public relations is communication, honesty in the words used, thoughts and views presented, as well as telling the truth about oneself. Communication is the essence of the public relations. The consequence of this kind of communication is to obtain an appropriate relationship with the environment. The credibility of the communication process is based not only on the appropriate formulating of expressions, but it also requires the ability to listen, which is essential in order to understand a given message. Public relations, therefore, includes the pursuit of a company’s mission, creating its identity and achieving satisfaction of both the management of a given company and its employees. All this takes place during the process of a mutual communication.
